Walking:The most frequent used path for the ascent of Mount Errigal begins near Dunlewey and the ascent and descent takes less than four hours for the leisurely walker. Other mountains nearby are Muckish Mountain, Aghla Beag and Aghla Mór and the Derryveagh mountains around the Poisoned Glen.

Bathing/Swimming: There are excellent bathing and swimming facilities within a fifteen minute drive of Glen Heights. Along the coastal waters near Dun Lúiche the areas of Falcarragh, Magheroarty, and Magheragallen in Gweedore has long stretches of sandy beaches.

Dunlewey Festival, Féile An Earagail: The Dunlewey Festival takes place during the August Bank Holiday weekend (the weekend of the first Monday in August). This traditional festival has fun for all the family with coffee morning, lakeside walks, mountain walks, fancy dress, music and dancing.
